Your Role...
In this position, you will be part of a small team of Database Administrators responsible for 20 production databases (up to 1.5 Tb). Your tasks will include:
- Database operating tasks including monitoring and backup.
- Taking part in the on-call standby roster.
- Carrying out planned work in out-of-office maintenance windows.
- Providing advice on database issues to the Infrastructure and Architecture groups.
- Contributing to the implementation of standards regarding database administration.
- Working closely with the Application Support and System Administration teams.
- Working with the Change Manager in IT Operations.
- 2+ years experience in Oracle database administration within a Unix/Solaris environment.
- Knowledge of Oracle database administration, user access schedules and disaster recovery procedures.
- Preferably:
- Certified by the Oracle Education Services as a DBA Master or equivalent.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Infranet, Axiom and Unix administration.
- Able to create and manage schedules.
- Working knowledge of ITIL.
- Previous exposure to structured system design and the implementation of integrated technologies.
- Able to create test strategies and to assess risks objectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, motivated and maturing environment.
- Excellent English communication skills - both written and spoken.
- University Degree or relevant IT qualifications.

Oracle DBA Team Lead (AH11490326)

Your Role...
- Lead a team of 8-10 staff responsible for supporting, monitoring and tuning Oracle databases (EBS & Non-EBS) and other Oracle products.
- Develop, implement and maintain database administration policies and procedures.
- Implement and review appropriate security guidelines/mechanisms, in compliance with security policies.
- Plan and review PDP (Personal Development Plan) for internal staff.
- Manage 3rd party/vendor company responsible for system monitoring including day-to-day issues, contracts/SLA.
- Manage stakeholders/other team such as the Functional/Technical team, Infrastructure team, Security team and Project etc.
- Plan and review DBA resources and future tasks including upgrades and support to projects.
- Plan and execute periodical development releases.
- Manage escalation from other teams to ensure smooth operation of the systems and to ensure internal SLA/OLA is met.
- Assist in hiring and budgeting.
- 5 years experience in a senior position and leading other teams.
- Must have experience in management and maintenance of Oracle EBS.
- Must feel comfortable in this environment:
- Database: 9.2.0.8 and 10G
- EBS: 11.5.8 and 11.5.10 with 45+ modules,
- iAS: 9i and 10G
- Discoverer: 9i and 10G
- Portals: 9i and 10G
- Environment consists of 30 production instances, 100 test instances - the biggest is 3.5 TB with 6000 users the second largest is 1.5 TB with 2000 users across Europe.

- Fix production incidents related to Oracle application systems/systems using Oracle technology.
- Work pro-actively with the Business and Peer Functional Consultants to resolve issues.
- Analyse route causes to prevent the recurrence of errors, providing functional information to the Technical Support team where appropriate and ensure fixes are in line with the existing Pan-European solution/design.
- Manage incidents to ensure priorities are followed and deadlines met, analysing the problems whenever required
- Take responsibility for the fixes coming from the Technical teams before going into production.

- Support, monitor and tune the database subsystems and instances and carry out application performance tuning and testing.
- Create instances and databases with appropriate initialization parameters and database structures (data files, rollback segments, table spaces).

- Perform database software maintenance.
- Move, rebuild, or change database objects as required in production.

- Install, apply application patches, cloning Oracle Applications Rel 11 (11.0.2, 11.0.3) and 11i (11.5.3, 11.5.6, 11.5.8, 11.5.9, 11.5.10).
- Install and configure Oracle Warehouse Builder (9i,10g).
- Install and Clone Oracle Financial Analyzer.
